The German Shorthaired Pointer Club of South Australia, Incorporated was founded in 1972. The Club has a mix of members, ranging from serious shooters to loving pet owners. The Club runs various events throughout the year, including Field and Retrieving Trials, Specialty Championship shows, Parade and Open Shows and Beach Walks.
Throughout its existence the GSP Club of SA has been very active in promoting this wonderful breed as a active, very intelligent animal with an easy to care for coat, a kind temperament and an excellent family dog, The object of the club is to encourage the training of German Shorthaired Pointers and to promote the breed as a whole. The club will work in co-operation with the Australian National Kennel Council, Dogs SA., and may affiliate itself with organisations devoted to the aims and objectives of the club and breed.
